Deseret News/KSL Poll: Mitt Romney crushes all comers in Utah

If the choice in a Utah GOP primary were between Romney and Trump, Romney would get the votes of 83 percent of Utahns, compared to just 11 percent for Trump.
"I think Utahns realize that one man has a vision for running the country and the other man, a vision for getting his ratings up," said Kirk Jowers, head of the University of Utah's Hinckley Institute of Politics and a longtime Romney supporter.
Jowers said he was surprised Trump had as much support as he did in Utah. "We have 11 percent who want to be an apprentice," he said, referring to Trump's popular TV show that allows him to choose someone each season to help him run his business empire.
The only candidates:

Mitt Romney 83%
Donald Trump 11%

The only candidates:

Mitt Romney 69%
Jon Huntsman 14%
Other candidate 7%
Donald Trump 5%
Sarah Palin 2%
Mike Huckabee 1%

The poll conducted last April 7 by Dan Jones & Associates of 247 Utahns statewide with a margin of error of plus or minus 6.3 percent.

This is the way the whole nation should go.....and it would.....if Americans, on average, were as bright as Utahns, on average.

I'm glad to see this. If Huntsman can't get traction in Utah where can he?

Some people are so concerned about pointing out that Mormons will vote for Romney "because Romney is a Mormon," that they forget that Utah supported George W. Bush more firmly than any other state.

Mitt Romney is a hero in Utah, and a household name. He saved the Winter Olympics from scandal. He showed that he knows how to run things during his time in Utah. Utahns like him. I hope that people will remember this and not just dismiss this kind of support as a "bunch of Mormons voting for a Mormon.

Orrin Hatch lost quite badly to George W. Bush in the primaries, even in Utah.
