Allen West: Open to VP spot in 2012

When asked about Newt Gingrich's comments about naming him as a possible VP:
"I have to pray about it and I have to clear it with my wife and two daughters," he added. "I never thought that seven years ago when I retired here I'd be a United States congressman, and that I'd be standing in front of your news camera. So we don't know what the future holds, but I'm always willing to serve my country."
West's response comes near the end of the following video:

Although I'm a big fan of West, I'm wondering if a year as a Congressman will be enough experience to realistically be considered for VP?

Then again, he had a previous career in the Armed Forces as a Colonel.

25 years in the military. Retired Lt. Colonel...That's good enough for me.

Whether he is actually prepared for the V.P. job will depend to great extent on what the President will delegate to him.

Would he just be going around the country making speeches? Pretty well qualified. Would he have responsibilities and a role similar to Dick Cheney? Maybe not so prepared.

Even west now is playing the GOP drinking game of putting jumping before ready.

I guess huck can ask him to run with him. then it would be the all fla ticket?

Can't do an all Florida ticket, unless they're willing to forfeit Florida's electoral votes. This would also rule out Rubio for Huck. But, he's not running anyway, so no point in speculating.
