Why Can't We All Just Get Along?

"Come on, be my friend. Let bygones be bygones.
Sure we never listened to your side before. Well that was before.
Sure we did everything possible to keep your proposals from seeing the light of day. That was before as well.  We only want to get along with you now.
Many will think that this new desire to get along, is because you now control the house. What a shallow way of looking at things.
Many will think that this new desire to get along, is because without your cooperation, President Obama's biggest decisions over next 2 years might be who to invite on any given golf outing. Nothing could be further from the truth."
The above are some thoughts that crossed my mind when I read the following title of an article, "Momentum builds for bipartisan State of the Union seating".
Several Senate Republicans have signed on to the effort, along with a few key House leaders, who have endorsed Democratic Sen. Mark Udall’s proposal to head across the aisle – literally – and sit with members of the opposite party during the annual address on Jan. 25.

The American voters are watching. If the Republicans get in bed with the Democrats, they can kiss re-election goodbye.

I can't imagine Republicans falling for this gesture to make Obama look good.

I thing congress knows they're on notice. We didn't just go through the mid-terms so that those left in Washington can all kiss and make up.

"I can't imagine Republicans falling for this gesture to make Obama look good." Unfortunately, I can believe it. The GOP just does not learn and does not get it.

Obama is going to follow the Slick Willie script, he will go to the center and hope that it is enough for re-election.....

Evelio,

You are correct. These Republicans better get back to a 2012 mindset. The mid-term elections were phase 1. Getting rid of Obama is phase 2.
