Ted Nugent: "Right now, if we had a vote, I couldn't vote for Sarah Palin"

I'm not in the habit of caring about the opinion of celebrities and NO after listening to this interview, I haven't changed my mind.

So rather than listen to conservative and former rocker Ted Nugent as a celebrity, listen to what he has to say as a fellow conservative who wants to win back the White House in 2012:

I'm not going to say he is right or wrong in his reasoning. I just wonder if he is just reflecting what the majority of American's are feeling. They like Sarah Palin, but as Presidential material right now, That's another matter. He seems to admit what many in her base won't admit, or are afraid to admit.

While Ted Nugent did not endorse in 2008, he was a supporter of Huckabee's.

I posted this comment at other sites:

Nugent loves Mike Huckabee

Nugent also said this of Huckabee in 2008:

Nugent: Though I dearly admire Mike Huckabee as a profound leader, great American, and personal friend, I, in fact, did not officially endorse his candidacy. I was however there behind the scenes with him throughout. I am convinced that Mike would have brought about an enormous upgrade for quality of life in America overall. John McCain is an American hero, occasionally a decent political employee, but inconsistent as hell on critical issues like border security, immigration reform, tax reform, education reform, court reform, and Second Amendment reform. We shall see. I hope to meet with John soon to remind him what we, the productive people, expect from our chief employee in this experiment in self-government.

Ted Nugent will be on Huckabee's show this weekend. Wonder if they will talk about Palin?

I'm watching Huckabee for sure!

Hope he plays bass with Ted on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW8S58CYQqs

It's kinda crazy how it's becoming "cool" for republicans to come out and lightly slap Palin. Hope it keeps up - Bachmann, Huck, and Mitch might actually run alongside Romney, and we'd have a real race going on!

This is incredible to me, illustrative of how women are flocking away from Palin. Proving once again that she's good for getting conservatives excited but horrible at outreach and making new converts:

"[Mitt] has 73 percent favorability rating and leads in all categories. His biggest lead over Palin is among independent women, where 41 percent chose Romney compared with 9 percent for Palin."

From "Romney out to early lead in NH" story on the right.

Honestly, hearing this Ted Nugent talk about her, "she's on her way...coming form the street, the rank in file", etc., I think people are forgetting that she was elected governor of a state and ran it almost 1 full term. She's been in politics a long time. She deserves more credit than this guy is giving her. She's not Joe the Plumber, she's "the nations hottest governor." It's not that she's inexperienced; she was more prepared to be president than Obama when he was running for president. It's that she sounds too much like an ignoramous when she talks.

Yeah, admittedly this was a bit of a surprise, but it's not hard to connect the dota. He will likely support Huckabaa. Once Huckabee announces he's not running, and it comes down to Palin vs. Romney, he'll be squarely in her conrner.

Looks like the Ted Nugent segment on Huckabee will be a talking segment, not a musical segment.

Huckabee has Casting Crowns on as the musical guests.

This blatant RINO, Ted Nugent, does not deserve to share the first two letters of his name with true supporter of the Artic Fox, Tex.

I miss Tex and Pugmire, the only two wordsmith wizards of the blogosphere to do Palin and Romney justice. Wonder if they got lost after ROS closed? Or in Pug's case, just disappeared off the face of the earth about a year ago?

I never liked his music but he does have a valid point.

Palin is likable and NO she is not ready YET!

It's obvious Nugent is a fan of Palin. I think he was just giving an honest appraisal of where he feels she stands at this point.

Nothing new here. Many of her critics have been saying the very same thing.

I think it holds more weight though when a fan says it.

I have a favorable opinion of Palin. But, she is far from my first choice for President. One of the things I always questioned (but didn't seem to bother other Republicans) might be coming under the microscope. Could Oil Tax Hike Come Back to Bite Palin?

"I think he was just giving an honest appraisal of where he feels she stands at this point." Yeah, honest in his own world.

BTW, I'd take Mrs. Palin's oil tax any day of the week over Mr. Huckabee's proposal for a 50 cents increase in gas tax.

Nugent seems to mirror what many polls show about Palin being ready (at this point) to be President. All we need do is look at Obama. Many don't want to travel down that road again.

I agree with Ted. I like Sarah as well. Her time may come someday when she's ready. 2012 won't be it because most voters aren't ready for her.
