PPP Polling: Sarah Palin shoots herself in the foot

That's not necessarily my view. That's the tittle of article explaining the results of their poll released today. A poll conducted after her statement on the Arizona tragedies.

BTW, Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger:
Most Americans familiar with Palin's video response to the Arizona shootings think it was inappropriate- that's where 40% of voters stand to 33% who were not familiar with her response and 27% who thought it was fine. Even among Republicans only 41% thought that what she did was proper- Democrats (60%) are much more unified in their feeling that it was not. Independents split toward thinking the video was inappropriate as well by a 42/28 margin.

Where does Palin stand now? In our monthly 2012 Presidential poll, which we'll release later this week, she trails Barack Obama by 17 points. That's the largest deficit we've found for her since May of 2009. She started last week with an opportunity to make some head way. She ended it perhaps further away from the Presidency than she's been since the day before John McCain picked her as his running mate.

PPP surveyed 632 American voters from January 14th to 16th. The survey’s margin of error is +/-3.9%. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

It's more like the media shot itself in the foot, and her opponents are 'wishful thinking.'

For days now establishment pundits are saying over and over - She's done. She's toast. She's politically dead. And then the next day they say it over and over. And then the next day. and the next day . . . .

They've done this a dozen times over the last two years. As if, 'If we say it enough, maybe it will come true.' Nope. It seems to strengthen her resolve.

Btw, she's doing much better than Reagan was during that election cycle. She is the only one I can see beating Obama. The campaign, and I think especially the debates, is where the truth will be exposed to voters. The establishment's lies won't last. The truth is eternal.

ppp = Positively President Palin

Bill,

Just think of all the time Palin would have saved you from explaining her actions if THERE HADN'T BEEN ANY!

That just about says it all.

I think the video/statement was a mistake. It's just another negative for her. However, I don't think it will stop her from running if she's made up her mind to run.

What are bad poll numbers when all you care about is winning the nomination. So what if I can't win the general.

A person who quits his/her job when the going is tough, and who cries and whines in the face of criticism is NOT the kind of President I want.
