PPP Polls: Palin's Republican problem

PPP came out yesterday with some analysis of Sarah Palin and a problem that may make her un-electable.
It's not that Republicans don't like her- on our last national poll 68% rated her favorably, making her easily the most popular prospective 2012 candidate with Mike Huckabee at 63%, Newt Gingrich at 57%, and Mitt Romney at 56%. It's that a lot of the Republicans who don't like her- in contrast to the Republicans who don't like Huckabee, Gingrich, or Romney- aren't willing to hold their nose and vote for her in the general election.
PPP examined the data for Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Montana, and Virginia. Palin has only been averaging 77% of the Republican vote against President Obama.
Republicans may hate Barack Obama but there look to be a pretty meaningful percentage of them who don't hate him enough to vote to put Sarah Palin in the White House. When you combine that with her complete lack of appeal to Democrats and independents she looks virtually unelectable for 2012.

If her favorables are 88% and she only got 77% against Obama, that means even some people who like her wouldn't vote for her over Obama. Wow.

It doesn't look very promising for Sarah Palin. If she disliked enough to have Republicans vote Democratic, There's no way to win. She is already
disliked by independents. It seems, she has no where to go.

She’s starting to do better with independents.
She’s attacked daily by both party’s elites and the LSM. But they are losing credibility as their lies are uncovered. When she announces and starts campaigning, more people will learn the truth about her, and her poll numbers will rise. She will shine especially in debates. The more the better.

So she's been brushing up on her debate skills since she the one where she didn't know enough facts to call Biden out on his lies?

Ann,

I agree with you.

Although, she could go back to Alaska.
