Palin Takes the High Road -- Compliments Christie

H/T Cubachi

Earlier this week, Gov. Chris Christie's comments about Sarah Palin garnered a lot of attention. The next day, Palin was asked about it on the Laura Ingraham Show. Apparently not familiar with the incident, Palin attempted to dismiss Christie's disingenuous swipe, but Ingraham contended that Christie was, in fact, mocking her.

Later in the day, Palin was a guest on the Dennis Miller Show. A woman from New Jersey called in to praise Palin's work to advance the conservative cause. Palin could have easily swept Christie's impressive accomplishments under the rug and simply accepted the caller's accolades, but she took the high road and made a point of complimenting the New Jersey Governor.

The following video is a montage of Christie's comments, Palin's reaction on The Laura Ingraham Show, and Palin's interaction with the caller from New Jersey.

Governor Christie, I hope you learned something from this.

Chris Christie is the best Governor in office right now. He is tearing it up in new Jersey.. No doubt he will serve his full term, and become a great voice for our party. It's no wonder Palin feels the need to suck up to him.

Aaron,

She's not "sucking up." They attended a Jets game a few weeks as guests of Jets owner, Woody Johnson. They got along great. They were reportedly very complimentary of each other. Palin probably dismissed this as a momentary lapse in judgement on the part of Christie. Whether he supports Palin for president or not, there's no reason for him to mock her. Especially since Palin has always spoken highly of him. I'm guessing he won't do it again....

You need to listen to some of the remaining conversation. I don't think we can assume she was exempting Christie from these remarks. By the time Miller came on, she had decided it was in her best interest to take the high road?

Ron Paul has been taking jabs like that from politicians his whole career. Why should she be excempt?

Chris Christie doesn't seem to be the type to say nice things about someone while thinking something else.

Right Wingnut,

Stealing Bosman's post from last week are we?. I noticed you didn't comment over there.

Zeke,

Note that I linked to Bosman's post(the word "comments" in my post--click on it). His video did not include the comments made by Palin to Ingraham and Miller.

Bosman,

This has absolutely nothing to do with Ron Paul, or any other Republican. Palin has had nothing but postive things to say about Christie. Christie had high praise for Palin when the met IN PERSON, just a few weeks ago. If he's the type not "to say nice things about someone while thinking something else," why did he not say it to her face? It was a bit disingenous for him to conduct himself like that. To her credit, Palin took the high road. She gave him a pass. For now, I'm willing to do the same. And I've never even been a huge fan of Christie.

Did anyone ask him then?

Your video screened a whole lot out that she said afterwards...view mine....was Christie not among those she was talking about then? If not, what makes you think not?

Unless Palin asked him in person if he thought she should be president, I don't see a case of Christie saying nice things about someone "while thinking someone else."

Besides, maybe she hasn't updated her talking points hand notes to include shots at Christie yet.

Wow. Based on some of the comments I must assume that many loyal Romniacs are offended that Palin took the high road. That proves that no matter what she says or does, your heads explode--just like the loons on the left.

Really getting pathetic out there. (H/T to Doug for the quote)

I don't see what the big deal is. Can someone not think well of Sarah Palin without thinking she should not be the president? There are a lot of good things about Palin, but I don't think those things include many of the qualities I want in a president. I don't know what was on Chris Christie's mind, but I didn't think he was "mocking" her. I thought he was saying that she should not be president. Doesn't mean he doesn't think she has a lot of admirable qualities.

Nicely said Noelle.

One can like Palin and be struck with a case of Palinmania.

One can like Palin and not think she's best choice for president, w/o being a RINO, an Elite, a Blue Blood or general all around No Goodnik.

Christie answered a question HONESTLY. That's what HONEST politicians do.
