Wow - a very snarky Brett Baier. I guess he doen't take "No" for an answer very well. Oh well, let's see how "objective" he is with his boss on Tuesday night.

Rather than dwell on his leaving MA with a 5 billion surplus, his Bain experience, and the Olympics, they spend 75% on Romneycare.

Lets see if they spend 75% of Palin's time on HER QUITTING and ALL her court cases back in Alaska.

Doug,

You're right. Bret Baier seemed a little miffed.
The little twerp pulled a, I'll show you!

Fox news really misrepresented Romney. I had hoped they would be more fair to him. For example, did you notice the part at 5:35 when Bret goes out of his way to say that Mitt "didn't go out of his way to endorse anti-establishment candidates," showing Nikki Haley amist O'Donnell and Angle? And hardly any mention of his nationwide marathon before the election. No mention of the deficit to surplus. This definitely didn't portray him in a positive light. I'm starting to think Mitt should have sucked it up and interviewed with Bret; at least then he could have had some control over the segment.

Mike,

The problem with that is if Romney had interviewed, more than likely they still would have shown him in a bad light.

This way here, everyone can blame it on Fox for airing it without an interview.

Obviously, he DIDN'T want to be included in the group.

Perhaps Brett was looking forward to having some kind of Ted Kennedy/Roger Mudd type interview, effectively knocking out the front-runner, until Romney denied his oppurtunity.

In any event, this is a mere zit on the entire face of things.

Right Doug. Now everyone can watch her highness tomorrow and forget what's-his-name was ever on the show.

Actually, I think Brett did Romney a huge favor. He left out the portion of the Hannity interview where he acknowledged that there are many "similarities" between RomneyCare and ObamaCare. His primary candidates will not be so kind.

Mike Zaloom said...

Good point RW, I hadn't noticed that.

To be fair to Bret, I hadn't yet seen any of the other videos, and I don't know if he'd evaluated potential weaknesses in the other candidates profiles as well.

thought this was on whole a bit of a swipe at Romney. but truthfully Romney is the only one not running to Fox news or employed by Fox news to make a name for himself. In fact I think romney views Fox news association as a bit of a negative in the general election.

which is why i think our nominee in 2012 will be Romney or someone very much like him from center right and not an extreme right wing person. reason being is that more than anything else the GOP needs to defeat Obama in 2012 and we arent gonna do that with a tea party candidate

Not a very good profile, and certainly not in the same vein as his other profiles in this series. Where was the mention of the massive number of candidates Romney endorsed and sent checks to? Where was the mention of the balanced budget in Massachusetts? Where was the mention that the MA health care plan was done only after balancing the budget, and without raising taxes?

I wouldn't be troubled if the other profiles were just as tough, but the fact is, they were not. Bret Baier, you can do a lot better than that!

i guess all we need to know about where Fox stands with mitt are this interview and the hit piece editorial today from Christian Whiton. in that one it says romney was the loser in CA cause CA didnt elect Whitman.

guess Mitt Romney is the non Fox news candidate and if he wins in 2012 it will be inspite of the fox pundits

I read the Christian Whiton. And now, Greta.

i tell you Carlo what I liked were the comments on the Greta piece that I just read.
If Romney has created this much passion in people already to comment against the Fox crowd then he is well ahead of where he was in 2008. It was the lack of passion that was part of the problem then.

Palin on '12 in 12'.

They spend all their time talking about how she's been picked on. Boohoo1

No mention of QUITTING!
No mention of the legal/scandals matters that plagued her as Governor and Mayor. SHE SAID HERSELF, that these were the reasons she quit.

Think they brought it up? NO!

WOW zeke...once again you misinterpret a Palin situation...nice spin though. She did not quit due to scandals...she resigned due to frivolous law suits that would have bankrupted her and her family and would have stolen precious time and money from the people of Alaska.
