A man reported to be a pro-Hamas Palestinian gunman who entered the UK illegally in 2025 is has been living in tax-payer funded asylum housing after completing his jail sentence.
The Jerusalem Post reported in March 2025 that Abu Wadei, who has called for the death of all Jews, was arrested in the UK after arriving in Kent on a migrant boat. He was born in Khan Younis, Gaza, and has pictures and videos on social media showing him posing with AK-47s and throwing pipe bombs. He is understood to have been a member of the Gazan ‘Tyre Burning Unit.’
Also known as Mosab Abdulkarim Al-Gassas, he pleaded guilty to trying to enter the UK on a small boat without leave or valid entry clearance, and served a 9-month sentence….
According to British media, the Home Office wishes to deport him but has been struggling to do so on account of government asylum policy regarding returning individuals to active conflict zones.
“That [his calling for the death of Jews] was back when I lived in Gaza under Hamas rule,” he said.
“Everyone knows that Hamas is a terrorist organization that would kill us if we didn’t speak against the Jews while living there.”
He said he now had Jewish friends and loved living in Northamptonshire. He added he was now in the asylum system and wanted to stay in the UK.
He knows just what to say — he denounces Hamas, a denunciation that he doesn’t mean, but by saying it, he can now tell the UK authorities that if he is returned to Gaza he will be killed. And his claim of having “Jewish friends” is part of his effort to stay in the UK, masquerading as a former terrorist who called for the “death of Jews,” but now has been so completely reformed that he has “Jewish friends.” Abu Wadei is dead-set on remaining in the UK because of all the largesse that is lavished upon him, including having his rent paid by the government, being given free medical care through the NHS, and even receiving a weekly allowance for sundries.
He may now claim to “hate Hamas,” but he continues to post videos on TikTok that encourage local young people to chant “Free Palestine.” This chant is understood to be a shortened version of the call “From the river to the sea/Palestine will be free,” that is, an insistence that the Jewish state disappear entirely, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, to be replaced by a 23rd Arab state, the “state of Palestine.” Think of what Abu Wadei is now receiving, even though he entered the country illegally, breaking British laws from the get-go. His monthly rent, which the government pays, amounts to $1000. He receives medical care for free from the NHS, which is estimated to be worth on average $6,000 a year. He receives education for free if he wants it, but apparently is not interested. He receives $261 per month for sundries.
