The vandal who beheaded the Iwo Jima monument on a US military base has been revealed as an illegal alien who was let into the US during the Obama administration and had his legal status extended under former President Joe Biden, The Post has learned.
Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano — who took a sledgehammer to the World War II monument at the Marine Corps Base Quantico — is a migrant from Mexico who entered the US illegally as a child in 1999, according to an administration official.
A second source familiar with his legal status indicated that the 27-year-old had been allowed to remain in the country under then-President Obama as part of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2014.
Soriano had that DACA status extended then under Biden in 2024, the source noted, adding that it was later stripped during President Trump’s second term.
“This criminal illegal alien’s dream is over: Maldonado Soriano disrespected our brave service members and defaced a beautiful monument that honored their sacrifice,” said White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers in a statement.
“President Trump has secured our border and is deporting illegal criminals who hate our country and our values. The socialist Democrats want to go back to open borders and flood our communities with dangerous criminal illegal aliens.” --->READ MORE HERE
A 27-year-old miscreant who was in the US illegally allegedly beheaded one of the soldiers on the Iwo Jima statue at the Marine Corps Base Quantico with a sledgehammer — causing an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, was caught by cops hacking at the replica of the famous World War II US Marine flag-raising at the Virginia base at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday night, Fox 5 DC reported, citing police.
The vandal decapitated one of the six servicemen depicted in the monument and caused additional damage.
Cops said the vandalism caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
“This criminal illegal alien’s dream is over: Maldonado Soriano disrespected our brave service members and defaced a beautiful monument that honored their sacrifice,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in a statement to The Post.

Maldonado Soriano was slapped with felony destruction of property, trespassing with intent to damage property, and felony injury to a monument charges, the outlet reported.
