Fauci claims the rights he denied everyone else.
“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci a full 111 times in last Wednesday’s homeland security committee hearing. According to Miranda Devine, that number is exceeded by “only a couple of mob bosses.” While invoking his own constitutional rights, Dr. Fauci believes the people don’t have rights even more basic than avoiding self-incrimination.
In 2021, the once-great McGill University in Montreal gave Fauci an honorary doctor of science degree, awarded to individuals, “who have lifetime records of outstanding scholarly, scientific or artistic achievement, or exceptional contributions to the public good through professional or philanthropic activity.” Asked how to approach people who were “anti-vaccine” and “anti-mask,” Fauci responded:
I think what people have to appreciate is that indeed, you do have personal liberties for yourself and you should be in control of that. But you are a member of society, and as a member of society — reaping all the benefits of being a member of society — you have a responsibility to society. And I think each of us, particularly in the context of a pandemic that’s killing millions of people, you have got to look at it and say there comes a time when you do have to give up what you consider your individual right of making your own decision, for the greater good of society. (emphasis added)
Note the reference to “what you consider” the right to make your own decisions. So for Dr. Fauci, you don’t really have that right in the first place. Any totalitarian dictator would be happy with that arrangement and under Fauci’s brand of white coat supremacy it was the people’s duty to obey him without question. Some of the consequences emerged in Wednesday’s hearing.
People were fired from their jobs for refusing untested vaccines. Fauci closed schools, shut down businesses, and barred people from visiting their dying relatives. As Sen. Bernie Moreno recalled, a mother was arrested for watching a football game outside. The Ohio Republican surely spoke for many when he told Fauci “who the fuck do you think you were for doing that?”
Fauci claimed “I represent science,” and charged that his critics, Sen. Rand Paul prominent among them, were only attacking science itself. That recalls key realities that did not emerge in the hearing.
Anthoni Fauci earned a medical degree at Cornell in 1966 but if he ever practiced medicine it was only for a short time. In 1968, to avoid treating wounded American soldiers, he took a “yellow beret” job with the National Institutes of Health. Fauci’s bio showed no advanced degrees in biochemistry or molecular biology but in 1984 the NIH made Fauci head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID). --->READ MORE HERE
Dr. Anthony Fauci declined to answer Fox News Digital’s questions outside his home Thursday, walking away when asked whether he regretted pleading the Fifth Amendment during a contentious Senate hearing or his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Do you regret the way you handled the hearing, pleading the Fifth so much?” Fox News Digital asked Fauci.
Fauci’s silence came one day after he declined, on the advice of his attorneys, to answer questions before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
“Although it pains me to do so because of the respect I have for the legislative branch of government, and my decades-long record of cooperating with Congress under the advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution to refrain from answering your questions,” Fauci said in his opening statement.
The former White House COVID adviser was questioned over his response to the pandemic and his policy decisions, and was accused of funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.
Paul argues Fauci’s invocation of the Fifth Amendment was unsupported because Biden pardoned him and said the committee will vote next week on a resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress.
“The Fifth Amendment is to claim immunity from self-incrimination,” Paul said on “The Will Cain Show” on Wednesday. “But if you’ve already been given immunity, you can’t self-incriminate unless you lie.” --->READ MORE HERE
