The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 10:00 p.m. on August 9 regarding the Russian invasion.
In total , 213 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day. The aggressor launched one missile strike, used nine missiles, carried out 66 air strikes using 211 guided bombs, used 6,347 kamikaze drones for strikes, and carried out 2,114 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements.
In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, two clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day, and the enemy has carried out 41 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements.
During the day, in the South Slobozhansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units 12 times in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Vovchansk, Artilne and towards the settlements of Izbitske, Volokhovka, Kupine, Khatne. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction, two enemy attacks took place in the Petropavlivka area and towards Novoplatonivka.
Twenty-seven attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled in the Lyman direction in the areas of the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Novoselivka, Torske, Yampil and towards the settlements of Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova and Ozerne. Seven clashes are ongoing.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped seven attempts by the invaders to advance in the Riznykivka area and towards Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian invaders carried out three attacks in the area of Nykyforivka and towards Yurkivka.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 24 enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Illinivka and towards the settlements of Dovha Balka and Mykolaypillya. Two clashes are ongoing.
Nineteen attacks were carried out by the enemy in the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske and towards the settlements of Kucheriv Yar, Nove Shakhove, Shevchenko, Svitle, Serhiivka, Muravka, Matyashevo, Novopavlivka. A total of 213 combat engagements between Ukrainian forces and Russian invaders were recorded along the front line on August 9, with the enemy most actively attempting to attack on the Lyman and Kostiantynivka axes.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in an update on the situation as of 22:00 on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.
"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 213 combat engagements in total. The aggressor launched one missile strike using nine missiles, carried out 66 airstrikes using 211 guided aerial bombs, deployed 6,347 kamikaze drones for attacks, and shelled our troops' positions and populated areas 2,114 times," the statement said.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, two combat engagements were recorded from the beginning of the day, while the enemy shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas 41 times.
On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna axis, Russian forces launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Starytsia, Vovchansk and Artilne and toward Izbytske, Volokhivka, Kupyne and Khatnie. Two engagements are still ongoing.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy launched two attacks near Petropavlivka and toward Novoplatonivka.
On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 27 attempts by Russian troops to advance near Novoiehorivka, Novoselivka, Torske and Yampil and toward Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova and Ozerne. Seven engagements are ongoing.
On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled seven enemy attempts to advance near Riznykivka and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Russian forces launched three attacks near Nykyforivka and toward Yurkivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 24 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka and Illinivka and toward Dovha Balka and Mykolaipillia. Two engagements are ongoing.
