Since the start of the day on August 20, 195 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The most intense fighting was recorded on the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions, where Russian troops launched 18 attacks each.
The reported General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational update as of 22:00.
According to the Ukrainian command, over the day Russian troops launched one missile strike and 55 airstrikes, used missiles with ballistic trajectory, as well as 44 cruise and air-launched missiles of various basing. In addition, the enemy dropped 157 guided aerial bombs, employed 6,634 kamikaze drones for strikes, and carried out 2,151 shellings of positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.
On the Kostiantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 18 assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillya, Ilyinovka, Novoselivka and towards Stepanovka. At the time of the publication of the update, one combat clash was ongoing.
Another 18 attacks were launched by Russian troops on the Pokrovsk direction. According to preliminary information from the General Staff, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 49 Russian servicemen there during the day, and 12 more were wounded. Also reported is the destruction of equipment, an artillery system, an electronic warfare asset, UAV control points, and ammunition depots.
On the Slavyansk direction, Ukrainian units halted 11 enemy advances, and one more battle was ongoing. On the Kupyansk direction, nine attacks were recorded, on the Gulyaypole direction — eight, two of which had not yet ended at the time of the update.
On the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled five attempts to advance by Russian troops, on the South Slobozhansky direction — three. Another two attacks were halted on the Orekhov direction.
On the Aleksandrovsk and Pridneprovsk directions, no offensive actions by Russian troops were recorded by the General Staff during the day. On other sectors of the front, no significant changes in the situation occurred. --->READ MORE HERE
On the front, during August 20, there were 195 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders, the hottest was in the Pokrovske and Kostyantynivske directions.
As Ukrinform reports, this is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation as of 10:00 p.m.
"In total, 195 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day. The aggressor launched one missile strike, used missiles that enter the target on a ballistic trajectory, and 44 air, ground, and sea-based cruise/aircraft missiles, carried out 55 air strikes using 157 guided aerial bombs, engaged 6,634 kamikaze drones for strikes, and carried out 2,151 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements," the report says.
In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, three clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day, the enemy launched two air strikes, dropped four aerial bombs, and carried out 32 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements, one of which involved the use of MLRS.
During the day, the enemy stormed the positions of our units three times in the South Slobozhansk direction towards the settlements of Lyman, Izbitske, and in the Starytsia area.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy launched nine attacks towards Radkivka.
Five attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled in the Lyman direction towards the settlements of Lyman, Novosergiyevka, Drobysheve, and in the Novoselivka area.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 11 attempts by the invaders to advance towards the settlements of Ozerne, Orikhuvatka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and in the area of Kryvaya Luka. Another clash is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian invaders carried out one assault operation in the Nikiforivka area.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 18 enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillya, Illinivka, Novoselivka and towards Stepanivka. One clash is ongoing.
The enemy also carried out 18 attacks in the Pokrovsky direction . The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Kotlyne and towards the settlements of Bilytske, Hannivka, Svitle, Shevchenko, Myrne, Vasylivka, Serhiivka.
