Frontline situation: The General Staff reported 119 combat engagements as of the evening of January 23:
On January 23, Ukrainian defenders held back the occupiers' offensive, repelling 119 combat engagements. On the Pokrovsk direction, 109 occupiers and a significant amount of equipment were destroyed.
Throughout the current day, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the intense offensive of Russian occupiers in key areas of the front line. The situation remains tense due to the enemy's active use of aviation and kamikaze drones. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes UNN.

Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have carried out 62 air strikes, using 145 guided bombs against the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and peaceful settlements. In addition to air terror, the aggressor used more than three thousand kamikaze drones and carried out about 2,800 shellings.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, numerous strikes using multiple rocket launcher systems were recorded, while in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy tried to storm the areas of Vovchanski Khutory and Ambarnyi five times.
Resistance in the Lyman and Kostiantynivka directions
In the Lyman sector of the front, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled eight assault attacks in the areas of Torske, Yampil, and Drobycheve, although as of 10:00 PM, fighting in some locations was still ongoing. Significant activity of the occupiers was also observed in the Kostiantynivka direction, where 20 combat engagements took place. The invaders tried to break through towards Illinivka and Stepanivka, but thanks to the efforts of the Defense Forces units, most of the attacks were stopped.
Record enemy losses in the Pokrovsk direction
The largest number of attacks traditionally fell on the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy tried to improve its tactical position 31 times. --->READ MORE HERE

Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 23:
As of 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, a total of 119 combat engagements were recorded along the frontline. The highest number of enemy assaults was reported in the Pokrovsk direction, with 31 attacks, according to the General Staff.
Russian forces carried out 62 airstrikes, dropping 145 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russia used 3,339 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,779 shelling attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian army and populated areas.
Situation on the frontline
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian forces launched five airstrikes, dropping 11 guided bombs, and carried out 56 shelling attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and settlements, including one using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops attacked five times near the settlements of Prylipka, Vovchanski Khutory, Ambarne, and toward Nesterne.
In the Kupiansk direction, no offensive actions were recorded.
In the Lyman direction, eight enemy assaults were repelled near the settlements of Novoselivka, Tverdokhlibove, Drobyshcheve, Torske, Yampil, and toward Lyman, Stavky, and Dibrova. Three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces launched two attacks near Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk direction, three enemy attacks were recorded toward the settlements of Nykyforivka and Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, 20 combat engagements took place near Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, and toward Illinivka, Stepanivka, and Novopavlivka. One clash is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 31 attacks near the settlements of Dorozhnie, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia, and toward Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Shevchenko, and Novopavlivka.
