A court heard Mr Broadhurst was stabbed 14 times - suffering wounds to his neck, chest and side
AN AFGHAN lorry migrant fatally stabbed a dogwalker 14 times just moments after attacking his landlord and a teenager, a court heard.
Safi Dawood, 22, is charged with murdering Wayne Broadhurst, 49, and the attempted murder of two others in Uxbridge, west London, last week.
Dawood’s alleged rampage left a 14-year-old boy wounded and Shahzad Farrukh, 45, with “life-changing injuries”.
He has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.
The Afghan national, who entered the UK via lorry in 2020, confirmed his identity by video from Wandsworth prison at an Old Bailey hearing today.
The court heard he had been due to leave his accommodation in Uxbridge three days after he launched a knife attack on October 27.
That day, his landlord Shahzad Farrukh, 45, had gone to the annex where he was living and allegedly found him armed with a large knife.
Dawood is alleged to have stabbed Mr Farrukh in the back, under arm and right leg.
Following the attack, Mr Farrukh ran out of the house to seek assistance from neighbours in Midhurst Gardens.
One of the neighbours swung her walking stick at Dawood which caused him to back off, the court heard.
The defendant allegedly also injured a 14-year-old boy before setting upon heroic Mr Broadhurst, 49, who was a stranger to him. --->READ MORE HERE
