Trump Attacks Reporter Digging into Foundation Spending

Washington Post reported the foundation paid to settled lawsuits against Trump businesses
Donald Trump’s presidential campaign lashed out at the Washington Post over its extensive work on the Donald J. Trump Foundation’s spending, challenging the reporter’s integrity and the accuracy of the reporting.
In a statement Tuesday night, campaign spokesman Jason Miller said Post reporter David Fahrenthold was “a biased reporter who is clearly intent on distracting attention away from the corrupt Clinton Foundation,” which the statement said is setup to benefit the Clintons by “selling access and trading political favors.”
Earlier on Tuesday, the Post reported that Mr. Trump used $258,000 in foundation money to settle legal disputes involving Mr. Trump’s for-profit businesses, purchase hotel advertisements, and buy two portraits of himself. The story, one in a series digging into the Trump Foundation’s spending and fundraising practices, reported such spending could violate Internal Revenue Service rules against self-dealing from nonprofit foundations.
