  3. Too bad the left is getting just what they want -- a divided Republican party.

I didn't agree with Cruz, but I thought it was an impressive feat and I hope some good comes from it.

At least that's what I thought when it ended. Then he immediately went to Rush and started trashing Republicans again!

And the wrong fight continues. Sigh . . .

  5. Republicans need to be trashed.

I actually haven't listened to this yet. Going to do it right now.

  6. Think those blue state Senators are taking some heat? Think again...

Democratic Senator Supports Compromise to Delay Obamacare's Individual Mandate

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/democratic-senator-supports-compromise-delay-obamacares-individual-mandate_757177.html

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia broke ranks with fellow Democrats and said he’d support a stopgap spending plan that delays the individual mandate in President Barack Obama’s health-care law.

“There’s no way I could not vote for it,” Manchin said at a Bloomberg Government breakfast today. “It’s very reasonable and sensible.” [...]

“Don’t put the mandate on the American public right now,” Manchin said. “Give them at least a year. If you know you couldn’t bring the corporate sector, you gave them a year, don’t you think it’d be fair?”

Manchin's defection will put pressure on other red state Senate Democrats to agree to a compromise delaying the individual mandate. According to a paper by the liberal-leaning Urban Institute, a one-year delay of the individual mandate could "seriously disrupt" the entire law.

  7. RW, yew, that is the right fight. Delay the mandate as a matter of fairness and common sense. And THAT is what should have been Cruz's fight, not the defund impossibility.

  8. Martha, Don't assume the delay argument would have any teeth if not for Cruz mobilizing millions of Americans. I can assure you Manchin is hearing from the good folks of WV.

  9. A fight over the delay could still result in a gov't shutdown.

  10. ....Despite his marathon of speaking and standing and arguing, after nearly a day on his feet, Cruz — there is no other term for it — squashed Durbin like a bug....

  11. "Cruz's fight, not the defund impossibility." Because people like you are defeatists and no longer think America is exceptional.

  12. lol, as I *yet again* 'expertly' predicted, the Cruz love festers have come out to play.

Let us ALL face it. Let everyone on this blog rejoice in the very real fact that I am 100% nothing less than a veritable expert.
You all know it. I know it. So let's just get that (very real FACT) out of the way with.

  13. OJ ha, well yes I have become somewhat of a defeatist. However, I still believe in American exceptionalism.

  14. RW, the delay has been talked about before Cruz came along with his defund non-strategy. The point is that this all should have been coordinated, and all Repubs should now be on board together. Instead, Cruz wants to be a one-man show.
