WHO said this? 'I’m not much different from Andrew Cuomo'

And the answer is:
[Bulman] said when he told Mr. Christie he is from upstate New York, “he said, ‘I’m not much different from Andrew Cuomo. I probably agree with him on 98% of the issues.’ ” Mr. Bulman said Gov. Christie “sees value in the building trades, which are private sector unions. He complimented us and said he uses us as an example of a pro-business union.”
Here is the piece in the Glen Falls Chronicle:

In an attempt at damage control, Christie has since clarified his remarks:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday that his similarities with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo are a matter of style, not substance.
The Republican powerhouse has denied telling a union leader that he “probably” agrees with the New York Democrat on the vast majority of issues.
Here is the related statement:

Is it me, or does anyone else see a pattern here? Photo's with the President with praise of him at Sandy update news conferences, without thinking of the political ramifications of those actions the week before the elections.

I hate to say this, but Christie seems to have a problem with his mouth leading his brain.

Am I wrong?

Christie and Cuomo "agree on 98% of the issues", according to Bulman's recollection of the conversation.

Or, the two governors "share the same political values", according to Christie's recollection of the conversation.

I'm not sure which is worse.

Either way, Christie's chances of winning the GOP presidential nomination in 2016 just took a huge nosedive.
