Pray for Mitt Romney. Right before he arrived in London, the torch carrier was attacked by a Muslim yelling Alah Akbar and was subdued by the men in the crowd. Mitt was asked if he thought London was ready. Mitt said it's hard to predict and the Leftist in the UK (the same ones that banned Marc Steyn, Michael Savage and Holland's Party For Freedom leader, Geert Wilder HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM ENTRY INTO ENGLAND for simply telling the truth about the radical Muslims.
Not only does Mitt Romney know something about security at the Olympics because he turned around the then-failing 2002 Winter Games--but he did so AT THE VERY FIRST OLYMPICS HELD AFTER SEPTEMBER 11, 2001.
In the months following 9/11, the country's fear of another terrorist attack on U.S. soil was palpable. As head of the 2002 Olympic Committee, Romney faced down that fear, dealt with it via superb security preparation, and used it against would-be terrorists. He succeeded in getting permission to have a tattered-but-intact American flag that had flown over the World Trade Center carried in reverence by the athletes into the Olympic arena in Salt Lake City.
So, let's not dwell on today's media feeding frenzy, or on Londoners' understandable defensiveness, or on Mitt's perhaps too-honest assessment of the security problems that have beset the London 2012 games. Gaffes are good for a couple days' worth of publicity. But Mitt's Olympic turnaround after 9/11 is for the ages. Ordinary Americans (who don't much like the Brits, anyway) won't care what Mitt said about security at the London Olympics. They will care what he did for our own Olympics in the wake of the most devastating terrorist attack in our history.

ReplyDeleteThe Leftist are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Don't let them distort what Mitt actually said. Speak up and set people straight.

The Brits are a bunch of thin-skinned, whining cry-babies.
ReplyDeleteThey deserve to have the London Games become a national embarrassment.
Any screw-ups whatsoever, and Romney looks like a genius.
