Quote Of The Day - Mitt Romney: "I Was A Severely Conservative Republican Governor"
Really, Mitt? "Severely?" I think you're trying too hard to convince us that you're anything but a centrist at best.
Who uses the word "severely" to describe their political views? It comes off sounding like some type of medical condition. That line could not have been crafted by one of his high paid speech writers...could it?
According to Thesaurus.com, here is what the word "severely" means...
Definition: harshly
Synonyms: acutely, badly, critically, dangerously, extremely, gravely, hard, hardly, painfully, rigorously, roughly, sharply, sorely
After hearing this brilliantly crafted line, this is the word that popped into my head.
Oh come on..you have taken this completely out of context..it fit in just fine with the whole paragraph..

I thought it was a good speech and judging from the standing ovations I was not the only one.
Since being anally retentive is the order of the day..if you go to dictionary.com..severely can also mean grave or stern or serious..but Romney used this word deliberately to convey a sense of seriousness.

President Obama would never use the word, "Severely".
ReplyDeleteWell if people say Mitt is not Conservative enough because they have hidden agenda like bigotry. Then the Republicans woulds be so divided. Lets face it we have a huge problem. Mitt fits all the criteria needed to save this Country but save The Soul of this country.. To the people that are still blind to this, this means they are guilty and will be held accountable by their creator for lying to themselves and not sticking to the truth..
ReplyDeleteHe obviously meant gravely, indicating the truth of his valiant efforts in MA. Romney'actions were very conservative against pressure and great opposition. Few will ever come at all close to Romney's valiant efforts in the conservative struggle. And you don't even seem to listen very well. Why do you believe the media industry now when 4 years ago they said Romney was conservative? Were they lying to us then or now? People need to care that the media misrepresented Obama and never vetted him, that is how we got in such a mess. We ought to ignore the flip-flopping media now to save our nation. It is vital.

As for Michigan...Santorum has been a creature of the unions, that is for sure....but I would have to see some more polls to give up on Michigan for Romney..remember how quickly those polls changed before Florida..Gingrich won SC and then jumped up to a lead and then SPLAT.

Mitt Romney's past accomplishments, business acumen, and formal education hardly qualify him as a dork, no disrespect. Like those before him, Santorum's bump in the polls will be short-lived. No other candidate can match the leadership qualities that Romney brings to the game.

ReplyDeleteWhat does it say? Well for one thing...all of these people have been in lead, some of them more than once..but it also tells you that there is a reason people have called the Republican party the stupid party from time to time.
For one thing, entertainers have taken the place of real commentators in the conservative media and people have become dependent on them for guidance..and these folks have their own agenda and that agenda is about benefiting themselves, not the Republican party or the United States of America..I think they either want Obama to win a second term or they want a brokered convention..either way they get to be big fish in that pond. Screw the rest of us.
And yes, Santorum sucks..if he did not suck you guys would have been singing his praises months ago.

My neighbor is a left wing troll. She was one of the Dems in MN that promoted the 3rd party candidate to ensure a victory for the liberal Democrat.

When Romney wins the next 4 contests in a row, will you still be supporting Ricky? or will you launch a draft Sarah movement?
I am not so sure Mr. Romney will win the next 4 in a row, but yes he will eventually win something. I wish Mrs. Palin or at least somebody else like Mr. J. Bush would have ran, but they did not. We cannot change what happened. Either Mr. Romney, Mr. Gingrich or even Mr. Santorum will win the brokerage convention. As nice as it would be to have another choice, it unfortunately won't happen, but hey.

ReplyDeleteAre you suffering from short-term memory loss? Romney has ALREADY WON New Hampshire, Florida, and Nevada (all by big margins). He virtually tied Santorum in Iowa (a state where Santorum had spent nearly 100% of his time).
These are the plain facts, however inconvenient they are to your fantasy narrative.
