  8. RW, you are absolutely correct. The bigots are mostly in the south. Just FYI.

The Romney photo on Drudge is a nice touch.

  9. BOS, LOL, whatever. You know as well as I do h straw polls are won...the same way RP won them the last two years.

Maine doesn't really affect the race much, but it would have been bad if Mitt would have lost.

  10. RW, you are absolutely correct. The bigots are mostly in the south. Just FYI.

You mean not in Minnesota? We've been called bigots all week.

  11. I'll leave you guys to your circle jerk...

    Have a good night.

  12. It is 21 delegates and Romney is as likely to get those as Santorum is to get the delegates he won.

Yes, I know RWN...you are such a victim..

  13. Romney in Maine 2008: 52% Romney in Maine 2012: 39%

  14. You know something RWN...if people would stop pandering to those idiots who do sound like bigots then maybe they would shut up and it would not be a subject of discussion at all.

  15. Terrye,

You really have a lot of nerve calling RW a victim. Many of you Rombots (disclaimer) have been crying like babies all week because Rick Santorum has the nerve to run for President. I knew that many of you Rombots (disclaimer) would act the same way about him that you did about Palin, Pawlenty, Huckabee, Cain, Perry, Bachmann & Newt. Time to destroy Santorum. You are all (disclaimer) so predictable.

Trust me...Romney will regret it if he goes nuclear/scorched earth against Santorum. Santorum is a good man even though you are all (disclaimer) making him out to be scum.

  16. RW, Not true and you know it.

Not me, nor anyone here accused MN of bigotry. Didn't happen.

What I did say is that some of the pastors introducing Newt and Rick, and Rick were saying bigoted things, and the candidates were not denouncing it.

Now, let's make sure there are no more false accusations, please.

  17. AJR, Mitt doesn't need to do anything on Santorum, well, at least not much. Just a few reminders of his record, that's all.

And PS. I was not crying like a baby. LOL

  18. May be a small number of voters, but it was a record turnout!

  19. If anyone WANTS A LAUGH, here is what RWN's favorite polling site said about Maine just yesterday:

It's generally assumed Mitt Romney will win tomorrow, largely because it's another New England state, but I'm a little skeptical. We did 3 Maine Republican Presidential polls between October of 2010 and October of 2011. Here's what we found:

-Romney doesn't have great favorability numbers with Maine Republicans. He was at 51/37 when we polled in October and 47/31 when we polled in March. Those favorability numbers right around the 50% mark are pretty comparable to what we found for him in Minnesota and Missouri last weekend, where of course he got crushed. Maine GOPers are definitely not in love with Romney.

-Romney never led in any of the 3 Maine Republican polls we conducted. He was 2nd behind Herman Cain in October, 4th behind Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, and Sarah Palin in March, and 2nd behind Sarah Palin in October of 2010. All 3 of those polls made it clear Maine Republicans were looking for a more conservative alternative to Romney. Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum don't appear to have much or any organization in Maine and a lot of Maine's caucuses had already been held before the Santorum surge began though, so I don't know if that desire for an alternative will really end up showing in tomorrow's results.

  20. Bos,

What's funny about that? Their last poll in October showed a close race, and Mitt spent some money and campaigned in the state...and it was still close. Were you dead certain he was going to win? If the answer is yes, it's a flat out lie.

  21. Hasn't Bosman and others quoted PPP when it benefited Romney? I'm sure that it was used multiple times here to trash Palin. How come it was great then & sucks now? I'll have to check the archives later to find some old posts.

  22. Ron Paul is a CLASS ACT.

Called Mitt Romney the front runner on CNN even with people picking at him here and there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Again, they haven't polled it for four months...and nobody other than Mitt and RP stepped foot in the state, or spent any money there. Don't they get Boston TV in southern Maine? I would expect Romney to win much more easily than he did. He should not have had to exert so much effort to fight off RP.

  24. AJR,

I've posted PPP polls like many others.

HAVE FUN trying to find one of theirs where I'm specifically singling them out and touting it as the be all end all poll result. Like someone else we all know here.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Martha, You really should review my MN Caucus thread. You'll clearly see that Terrye was implying bigotry was at play. In addition, it's been stated implicitly and explicitly on many occasions, on this site and others, that bigotry had something to do with MN, CO, and MO.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bos, What? find one where I've done that! Even with today's national poll, I acknowledged that it's probably not 15 points.

  27. A.J.R. your (disclaimer) has me LOL! Funny.

There is a certain amount of discussion on other blogs about the timing of these new HHS regulations. Does anyone else but me think that Stephanopoulis contraception question to Romney in the debate is suspicious? I remember thinking that comment was completely irrelevant to everything that has been going on. Then, voila! The Obama Administration brings out new regulations that hit Catholics especially hard. Could this be deliberate messing with the GOP primaries?

P.S. Glad Mitt won today. He is going to be in town on Monday for a rally here. Tuesday is the "Valentine State's" 100th birthday. Happy Birthday to Arizona!

  29. GREAT DAY FOR ROMNEY and a fine way to end the week.

All the Sunday Roundtable shows will discussing hie "comeback" with Conservatives - CPAC win which is the second highest after GW Bush won in 2000 with 42% per Fox News; and now Maine.

    Nothing is better than winning.

Then these is a famous qoute I heard the other day, which sums up Mitt's solid position to nab the nomination:

"There are two things vitally important to have in order to win in politics. Money and I can't remember the other one."

    ReplyDelete
  30. Very happy for my man Mitt today. Nice win at the CPAC straw poll. Gives Mitt a nice boost regarding conservative credibility. I love the result in Maine. Of course I'm glad Romney won, but Ron Paul coming in a strong second, and Santorum coming in a distant 3rd should blunt some of the momentum Santorum won after his victories on Tuesday. Gingrich coming in a distant 4th makes me very happy because I don't like him at all.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Even though I would prefer to vote for Santorum over Paul in the general, strategically, for Mitt, I think this was the best result.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I guess the reports of Mitt's political death were a little premature?

baaaahhhhhaaa. He's back. And he's going to kick some snot kid named Ricky's butt.

  34. "I understand it's beautiful." Having been to Maine, I agree. It also has decent seafood.

  35. Terrye...

Here is the short answer to your statement....No. Since you didn't refute anything that I said earlier that must mean that I was right and you (as usual) were wrong. Hope you are enjoying your blankey and bottle this day you little whiney baby!

  36. Bos,

The fact that you have posted PPP polls proves that you find them useful. If you thought PPP was worthless crap you wouldn't have referenced them at all.
