Take Your GOP Saviors and Shove 'Em!

Judging by the time and tone of this post, it's obvious to you all, I have been out and partaking in more than my fair share of "adult beverages." Trust me, in addition to my motor skills, Spell Check, is being severely challenged tonight.

But, I'll cut to the quick.

I find all this talk of "White Knights" "Swoop In Late" and "GOP Saviors" to be most indigestable. The GOP field is what it is. If it looks weak, that says more about the people who decided not to run, than those that are in.  Maybe the folks who decided NOT to run were a hell of a lot weaker that those who stepped up. One thing is for sure, they had little heft in the crotch, if you know what I mean.

The primary reason for holding them in such contempt is, if these potential candidates had any real intestinal fortitude, they'd be running already.

As for me, I don't want a "Savior". I don't need a White Knight. And I most certianaly don't need a "Lady of the Lake."

I back Romney, but I appreciate those who have already declared. At least all these folks have stepped up to the plate. Win or lose, they made a decision and put themselves out there. Every day that passes, shows up all these wannabe GOP Rock Stars as nothing more that self serving and selfish.

I want someone who says from the outset they WANT the job of President of the United States AND is willing to go out and WORK for it. Having to be coaxed, drafted or deciding if the field measures up to "Your" standards, is the most cowardly, egotistical and arrogant attitude a politican can display.

All these late deciciding Prima Donnas strike me as nothing more than empty suited posers and financial oppurtunists, more intent on feathering their own lucrative, faux leadership nests, be the they a former NYC Mayor or some fractional percentage term Governor of a small, inconsequential and sparsly populated state.

I call Bull Sh#t!!

Announce and put yourself out there, or say "NAY!"

  2. Is anyone going to call Doug out on his crass language?

    Anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  3. You really should lay off the sauce for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  4. No need to call me out, RWN.

Even in my cups, I kept a modicum of decorum, never spelling out the one bad word in it's entirety.

Besides, I also issued an apology upfront.

  5. LOL.

Actually the term I prefer is hooch.

  6. By this time, I think all of the sincere and legitimate candidates are in the race. Anyone who is not currently in the race, but will enter in the future, their goal is not to win, but to achieve something else. Maybe they hope to keep (or perhaps develop) media attention. Maybe they want to get a specific issue some attention. Maybe they want to weaken or boost another candidate.

In 2008 Fred Thompson was my 2nd choice. No matter how good he was, his heart wasn't in it. Being POTUS is the hardest job in the world. Nobody should get in because someone else wants them to. They should only get in because they truly want the job, with all of its burdens.

  9. RW, Doug's language is marshmallows compared to yours, buddy. And he's not running for office, or aspiring to be a national leader, so I'm not too worried.

Doug- Amen! I feel exactly as you do. Perry wants to be drafted, and I believe this was his plan from the beginning. I never believed his protestations that he had no intention of running. That national day of prayer thing is just too transparent.

And then there's Palin, stinging along her fans for months on end. She doesn't care that people are out there giving their time and effort for something that will never happen. She's using EVERYONE, for her own little narcissistic games.

I suppose the both of these egomaniacs are planning some big Palin/Perry or Perry/Palin rollout designed to knock our socks off.

I look forward to it, and the embarrassment to follow.

Then it's less often that Doug does.

  12. "heft in the crotch" "bullshit" "shove it"

I take no offense, but I doubt I'd get a pass from the Mormons among us for these comments.

Of course, it's ok for said Mormons to slander Palin and her family for political gain.

  13. "I take no offense, but I doubt I'd get a pass from the Mormons among us for these comments." Bingo, The Romneyites go off on Tex for less than that. Double Standard City.

  15. I'm tired of all these wanabees as well.

Take the plunge or get lost.

  16. Actually, I wrote BULLSH#T never spelling out the expletive completely. And I wrote "Shove 'em" not "Shove it."

If you're going to chastise me, at least try to be accurate.

Now "heft in the crotch" might be crass, but I'm rather fond of that little phrase. I think it's jovial quality far outweighs any offensive overtones.

Now, how about discussing the content?

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Now, how about discussing the content?" OK, with the possible exeption of the candidates from MN, the current declared candidates do not cut the mustard.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Doug,

You and I are on similar pages today.
I am getting fed up as well.

  19. Now Jo Jo,

You know very well the former Gov of MA is more than capable of not only cutting the mustard, but packaging it, marketing it, analyzing the sales performance, correcting any product flaws and generating a substantial return to the investors.

He also has the executive experience, temperment and experience to handle the job.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Doug, does that mean I can say whatever the f@ck I want as long as don't spell it out completely?

    Sweet...

    ReplyDelete
  21. "They cut my mustard." I noticed that, some of us have higher standards.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "Of course, it's ok for said Mormons to slander Palin and her family for political gain."

    RW, you talkin about me?

It's against my 'Mormon' faith to lie, and I have never done so even once about Sarah Palin. LOL

In fact, try to find one of my so-called slanders. Good luck!

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  23. RW, I'll admit I have a double standard about your and Doug's language, and yes, I'd rather give Doug a pass than you on the language front.

For one thing, he's mild, and second, he hardly EVER expresses himself in any way other than completely polite.

You, on the other hand, have a nasty habit of melting down and letting out a string of profanity and insults that are very offensive--including the more unsavory words.

Doug is a gentleman, you are not. And plus, he's never called me ugly.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  24. Martha,

I don't know what you look like on the outside, but I don't care. You're ugly on the outside. Hideous, in fact.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I meant ugly on the inside. Yes, Martha. You are.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Doug, you mean you actually want to discuss your post? LOL. Are you f@cking kidding me? We don't do that here. I guess you didn't get the memo.

    ReplyDelete
  27. RW, Harsh. Will take under advisement.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  28. Martha, RW never called you ugly, he called liberals ugly. I thought you used to call yourself a Conservative. As long as that has not changed, you need not worry about being insulted. For the record, I liked your picture on ROS, but that is not the point. RW is a gentleman and a defender of Conservatism.

  31. OJ, in this very comment thread RW said Martha was ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "OJ, in this very comment thread RW said Martha was ugly." He said that was he ugly on the inside. I think he confused Martha with her twin when he said that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Noelle, I didn't say you slandered Palin, although you do get a few jabs in here and there. That's fine. I'm not talking about you. However, you would likely be offended by the crass nature of Doug's post if it had not been written by a Romney supporter. That is my point. Selective outrage is at play here. And it's not the first time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "I am a Mormon. When have I ever slandered Sarah Palin?" Correct Noelle, you did not slandered Mrs. Palin. I am rather sure that somebody else was being refered to.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Another example.... Mass conservative..."piss off."

Great way to sway folks over to your side buddy.

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Selective outrage is at play here. And it's not the first time." That part is true.

    ReplyDelete
  37. "WE THE PEOPLE are TIRED of corrupt bastards like you manipulating us for cash and attention!!!

I have ZERO respect for charlatans and carnival barkers like them!!!" Either you forgot your anger management pills again or you are really MA Liberal. I have no trouble giving cash to Sarah PAC, it is the capitalist way. You and your liberal friends in Alaska would rather bankrupt Mrs. Palin. Your plan did not work entirely as planed.

    ReplyDelete
  38. RW, if you're not talking about all Mormons, why don't you just come out and name specifically who you are talking about. Because when you said Mormons think it's okay to slander Palin, you were talking about me. I fit the classic definition of Mormon.

And OJ, whether it's on the inside or outside, RW did in fact say Martha was ugly. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  39. BTW RW, in fairness to Noelle, while she may have mocked Mrs. Palin, she never trashed Mrs. Palin for her religious veiws. Further, unless she changed her name, Noelle was not on the other web-site when Pollman's friends mocked Mrs. Palin's religious beliefs so she did not know about it and thus Noelle should not get blamed for not standing up to those characters because she never knew them.

    ReplyDelete
  40. OK, Noelle, it was not nice of RW to use the ugly moment, but I do not think it was meant in nastyness.

    Ohio rube

Her games are stringing her supporters along for attention and cash.

    I HOPE SHE RUNS.

    But she obviously isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And Ellie is not as bad as Malia Litman, but that does not excuse her actions.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maybe she will run and maybe she will not, but in any event, I expect her to continue to support Conservative candidates across the country. After all, she was quick to support Mr. Walker.

    ReplyDelete
  48. RW, did you come up with any slanders, yet?

I agree with Noelle. Being Mormon has nothing to do with it. I am sorry if I reflect poorly on my faith, however.

OJ, I don't remember anyone trashing Palin's religion over at race. I certainly didn't and would not. I think IG said that her faith might be an issue, but it was pretty mild compared to everything we saw against Mormons.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am usually the "politeness police" on this site, and I have been on vacation. Okay, Doug, this one is a pretty crass post. I hope in the future you will find a way to express yourself more politely. There, will that satisfy you RW?

It reminds me of a story I heard about Truman. He was giving a speech, and a woman turned to his wife and asked her if she couldn't get Harry to use the word "fertilizer" instead of "manure." Mrs. Truman informed the woman that it had taken her thirty years to get him to say "manure." I will polish you all up, yet!

I am also a Mormon and have never trashed Sarah Palin. Please do not lump us all together. I can't stand Harry Reid!!!

    AZ

    ReplyDelete
  50. As the author of this post, my pique and crassness was aimed at the media/punditry class for continuosly belly aching about the state of the current field, as well as the potential candidates who are playing this flirtation game.

Why some people had to personalize this, bringing people's religion, is odious.

RWN you were out of line going down that road and you should refrain from that in future.

It would also help if you don't take every word posted on here through a Palin Prism. The tit of tat rebuttals are a snoooze fest.

You're a good guy. How you can be so angry 24/7 is bewildering and sad.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Doug, It just so happens that Mormons are particularly offended by the bad language. It's just something I've noticed. I was just wondering how long it would take for one of them to say something. That was the extent of it.

Having said that, anything goes at Right Speak....right? We can talk about Palin's uterous and trash Palin's family...surely we can discuss religion .....right?

I voted for Romney in the 2008 caucus without a care in the world about his religion.

    ReplyDelete
  52. RW, I already admitted I had a double standard about the language, what more do you want? LOL

Why must you drag Mormonism into it? You are not 'discussing' religion. You are making false accusations and attempting to portray my religion negatively. There isn't any call for that. I'm responsible for the things I say, and me alone, not the fact that I am a Mormon. I said I regret that I may be a poor reflection of my faith.

I have never trashed Palin's family. People always say that, but it doesn't have a shred of truth. I did say some pictures and facts didn't make sense to me. That's all.

Yes, I've said many harsh things about Sarah Palin. She wants to be a national leader, so she puts herself into the ring, and despite what her protective fans think, she CAN handle it.

So go ahead and talk about Romney, I don't care. I just don't see why you make everything so personal. Ellie and I are not running for office. This site is not about us.

    -Martha

  53. Doug,

Great post, I dont care about foul language, i have seen it in comments on this site but it doesnt bother me. You can also add Mr Donald Trump to that list of lagger gaggers. I agree that if you want to make a difference and think you have what it takes to be president, then declare so and work to make it happen. But this "waiting it out" to first see who will run, who your opponents will be, where the latest poll has you in line should you jump in, what the public perception is to your candidacy, and donald trump saying if he doesnt like the eventual nominee he will run as a 3rd party is baloney. Dont think that your some type of the messiah that the country is waiting for. Either declare, work hard and make it happen, or sit on the sidelines and help get the candidate of your choice elected. Simple as that.

    MIZZOU

  54. martha,

I'm not sure how saying the Mormons on this site have complained about foul language is a negative comment about Mormonism.

I could give a shit what church you or Mitt go to. I thought I made that clear in my previous comment.

    ReplyDelete
  55. RW, you know that's not all you said.

"Of course, it's ok for said Mormons to slander Palin and her family for political gain."

You know very well that this is the comment in question.

    -Martha

  56. Now, when did I slander Palin? You haven't come up with anything yet.

I don't want her to be a national leader because I think she's selfish and bad for the party. I think she's a narcissist. I think she is unqualified. I think she is using people for her own gain. I think she says incredibly stupid things. I think she makes bad decisions. Etc, etc, etc.

I haven't ever lied about her.

  60. RW, Oh my heavens, whatever has made you such a bitter person? I'm sorry if anything I have done has turned you so sour. Honestly, I am.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  61. Martha, while it was not right for RW to indirectly blame all Mormons for 'slandering' and so forth to Mr. Palin, you are not telling it straight when you claim that there were not any Mormons who trashed (or at least mocked) Mrs. Palin's religion on the other site. Further, at least one person was banned for defending Mrs. Palin's religious beliefs. This kind of non sense does not exactly put people in a good mood.

BTW, if Winning The Future is classless, take it up with Mr. Obama, not Mrs. Palin.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm not sure where I blamed "all Mormons," OJ. Just a few classless ones on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  63. OJ, You are saying that some Mormons on the other site (race or ROS?) trashed Palin's religion?

I don't know how I missed all that, but I guess I did. Who, and when was this?

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  64. I NEVER trashed Palin's religion. Heck, I don't even know what religion, if any, she and her family practices.
RWN, you and others like you are just bitter folks who can't understand why others don't care for Palin, and certainly don't want her or those like her for our president. You can't talk on substances, so you go personal on us. putting down our faiths, our looks (like you know what we look like?).
    Ellie

    ReplyDelete
  65. Like I said, the only mention of Palin's religion I can remember, was when IG mentioned an article that was making fun of/exposing some unusual things about her church. He did not agree with the article, but said it might be a problem for her.

I have never seen Ellie or anyone else even mention Palin's faith, other than that one day.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ellie, I think my last sentence left the wrong impression. I didn't mean that you, or anyone, said anything about her religion that day. I don't remember what anyone said, only that IG took some heat.

    -Martha

    ReplyDelete
  67. "RWN, you and others like you are just bitter folks who can't understand why others don't care for Palin, and certainly don't want her or those like her for our president." That is a great description of how bitter MA con is.

    ReplyDelete
  68. GOD rest his Soul, that was not one of IGs finest moments. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he did not mean it out of nastiness. however, I kind of lost sympathy for you guys when that Utah guy who starts with W pulled the same crap, but worse on ROS. Then bannings started when he was called on it. Further Martha, the SBA is not anti-Mormon just because they demanded Mr. Romney sign their pledge. Various non-Mormons had no trouble signing it. There is a reason why your whining is not taken seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  69. OJ, I think you are mistaken about what I said about the SBA. I never said ANYTHING about them being anti-Mormon, in that thread. I was talking about Bryan Fischer and the American Family association crowd. I was actually thread-jacking that day.

Sorry for the confusion. I don't have any reason to believe the SBA is anti-Mormon, racist, anti-gay, etc. I do, however, think they were power-hungry, and against Romney.

Those other jokers at the AFA ARE bigots, racists and anti-gay.

    -Martha
