Newt Gingrich: I'm working to clear path for 2012 presidential run [video]
In an interview with the Des Moines Register on Tuesday, Newt Gingrich said, he is making personal arrangements that would allow him to launch a campaign for president early next year, which his closest political adviser expects him to do.
There is bo doubt that Gingrich is a brilliant man. The problem is, he's un-electable. To much baggage! To mant negatives! The Dems would have a field day if he was the nominee.
I hope he runs ONLY because he will draw votes from Palin and Huckabee in the south. Especially the early state os SC.
Oh my, the idea of Mr. Gingrich leading the party is worse than Mr. Romney leader us. Mr. Gingrich came to my community the other, but I did not bother to see him. If I would have gone I would have given him a piece of my mind and it would not be a good sight. At least with Mr. Romney, there is a small chance I'd vote for him in the general, but if Mr. Gingrich leads us, it might be enough to drive me away from the party for good.
I'll give Gingrich credit for smarts, and I think he would probably do a good job as president, but like Palin, he would be constantly attacked by the media. Fair or not, that would weaken him. Given the current crop of contenders, there is no doubt in my mind that with everything factored in, Mitt Romney would be the best POTUS we have had in many years.
Don't you people get it...no matter who our nominee is...they'll be attacked by the media. And if they don't attack Romney then it's because they find him to be closer to their liberal viewpoint not because they recognize the genius that is Romney...like some of you want to believe.
It's to bad that he has so many personal negatives. As far as intellect and debating skills, I put him on par with Romney. That however is not enough for him to win the nomination

Newt would be my second choice after Romney. I know, the field after Romney is that bad.
ReplyDeleteNewt’s ‘baggage’ is before my time, but if half of what I read is true, that’s still too much.
ReplyDeleteToo bad - he could have been a contender.

Let us not let the Left, and their media, pick the Republican nominee this time.
ReplyDeleteIf the Left attacks Palin most, that’s more a sign that she’s the right candidate, not a wrong one.
I’ve said this before: When the LSM does attack Mitt, I congratulate him. It’s a good sign.
Bill,
ReplyDeletePalin supporters are battle tested. Romney backers are not. When Mitt starts getting attacked, they will need a rubber room.

ReplyDeleteGingrich has more skeletons in his closet than Hannibal Lecter.
